Meet the Principal

Mr Sarky has an extensive background with over 22 years of experience in education as a teacher, administrator, and educational consultant. He is also an experienced IB Educator with a strong foundation in pedagogical leadership.

Mr Sarky graduated from Cairo University with a BA in Language and Literature in 2000 and has since been working in the field of education. His areas of expertise include pedagogical leadership, community building, educational projects, teachers’ professional development, and well-being.

Mr Sarky has been an IB Educator for over 11 years and has fulfilled various roles to promote the IB philosophy across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. He is also a certified positive discipline trainer.

Mr Sarky strongly advocates for student-centered learning and has a proven track record of implementing innovative educational programs that have had a positive impact on student achievement. He is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.

We are confident that Mr Sarky will bring new perspectives, ideas, and leadership to our school community. He is excited to meet and collaborate with each one of you to continue our school’s tradition of academic excellence and character development.

Nermine Hammad joined GAA in 2019, following 14 years at Alexandria House of English where she started her career first as an English teacher then as a Head of the Primary British Department.

Before joining HOE, Mrs Hammad taught Business English courses for post graduates at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology.

Mrs Hammad grew up in Alexandria where she attended and graduated from Sacred Heart School. Following her passion, she studied English Literature at Alexandria Faculty of Arts, English Department; her most favourite lectures were Human Civilizations and Comparative literature. She earned her Bachelor Degree in 2002. Only few years later, she became an accredited Cambridge English teacher.

Ms Nermine views a collaborative school environment as the key to creating successful teachers and students. She believes in the potential of al students if they put the required effort.

During her free time, Ms Nermine enjoys reading historical fiction novels; her most favourite genre.

My name is Jamie Sing and I am Australian. I have had the privilege of being part of the GEMS Academy Alexandria family since 2015. After spending 18 years teaching and managing children between the ages of 6 months to 7 years of age, I was excited to expand my role at GEMS Academy Alexandria, to Head of Department for Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.

Together with a team of amazing, experienced, qualified and creative teachers, I am committed to providing your family with a loving and developmentally sound foundation for a lifetime of learning. We strive to create and maintain an environment where your child can grow and thrive while exploring the world around them.
